FOSAD 2024: A Summer School on Security Foundations in Bertinoro

The 23rd International School on Foundations of Security Analysis and Design (FOSAD) took place from August 26 to 30, 2024, at the University Residential Center (CEUB) at the “Rock of Bertinoro“.

Founded in 2000, FOSAD is a leading event for graduate students and early-career researchers from academia and industry to learn about the fundamentals of cybersecurity. The school covers a wide range of topics, including programming language theory, cryptographic protocols, infrastructure protection, and software security systems. Over its 23 editions, FOSAD has gathered more than 1,000 participants and hosted over 200 lecturers from across the globe.

Since many years, Alessandro Aldini and Fabio Martinelli have been the organizers of FOSAD. In this year’s edition, Alessandro gave a talk presenting the AsCoT‑SCE project, highlighting methodologies and tools for defining, assessing, and certifying cybersecurity and safety risks in IoT devices.

FOSAD 2024 continued the school’s tradition of combining rigorous academic content with an engaging environment for interaction and discussion, supporting the growth of the next generation of cybersecurity researchers.
